The interiors of the $150 million Goulburn Hospital and Health Service Redevelopment will pay homage to the rich history of the Goulburn-Mulwaree region by incorporating familiar elements and links to the natural surroundings.
Health Infrastructure’s Rural and Regional Executive Director, Amanda Bock said, “The interior design strategy supports relaxation and restoration, provides a sense of belonging and promotes healing with the aim to reduce stress for patients, family and staff.”
“Modern design elements will be implemented by using a variety of materials, bursts of colour and graphic images.”
“Bold wayfinding will create a space that everyone can relate to, and the overall design scheme will enable patients to connect with identifiable objects as well as to their surroundings.”
“The strategy has been developed through consultation with the Patient and Consumer Project User Group and takes into account feedback from health service staff, local Aboriginal groups and the community. Thank you to everyone who has contributed,” Ms Bock said.
Construction of the new clinical services building is on track for completion in late 2021. The new building will then undergo an operational commissioning and internal fit‑out period before opening its doors to patients in 2022.

The $150 million Goulburn Hospital and Health Service Redevelopment builds on the NSW Government’s extensive investment in health facilities across the district. The NSW Government is investing in health facilities across the Southern NSW Local Health District. This includes $18.6 million for the Cooma Hospital Redevelopment, the redevelopment of the Yass Hospital and Braidwood MPS as part of the Government’s $297 million Multipurpose Service Program. The NSW Government has also committed $200 million to deliver the new Eurobodalla Health Service to be located in Moruya.
