Construction is underway on the final stage of the $165 million Goulburn Hospital and Health Service redevelopment.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the final works will expand the clinical services being offered at Goulburn Hospital and includes a refurbishment of areas within the old hospital, as well as transferring existing services into new spaces within the redevelopment.
“We’re now on the home stretch to complete the Goulburn Hospital and Health Service redevelopment, which is a shining example of a modern, regional hospital delivering first-class care to improve health outcomes for our community,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
“Over the next 12 months refurbishment works within the existing hospital will be completed providing upgraded spaces for ambulatory outpatient services, oncology, Aboriginal health, and pathology.
“We’ll also be relocating some of the remaining clinical services from the Bourke Street Health Service to the Goulburn Hospital Campus, to make it easier for the community to access the health services they need in the one location.”
Minister for Regional Health Bronnie Taylor said the major redevelopment of Goulburn Hospital will provide a significant health boost for people in Southern NSW and future-proof health services for communities in the Southern Tablelands region.
“It is great to see work begin on the final stage of the Goulburn Hospital redevelopment. Excitingly a new MRI service will also be incorporated into the Goulburn Hospital campus as part of this final stage,” Mrs Taylor said.
Construction on the final works will be undertaken by Donnelley Constructions and is expected to be completed by late 2023.

The four-storey clinical services building, delivered as part of the Goulburn Hospital and Health Service Redevelopment was officially opened in December last year and includes a new emergency department, maternity services, an intensive care unit as well as operating theatres, day surgery and recovery areas.
The Redevelopment is part of the NSW Government’s record $11.9 billion investment in health infrastructure over four years to 2025-26, with nearly a third of the capital allocation in this financial year going towards regional and rural health facilities.
Since 2011, the government has delivered more than 180 hospitals and health facilities across NSW, with more than 130 currently underway – of those, more than 90 are in rural and regional areas.
