Goulburn Hospital redevelopment thanks staff, patients and community

On Thursday 20 June 2024, staff, volunteers, patients and community members gathered to celebrate the completion of the $165 million Goulburn Hospital Redevelopment.

The event was an opportunity to acknowledge and thank the many people who made the transformative project possible.

"Planning, designing, and delivering a hospital redevelopment is a huge job made possible through the contribution and dedication of many, many people. I want to thank everyone who has been involved in this project from its inception to now," said SNSWLHD Chief Execuitve Margaret Bennett.

Ms Bennett paid special tribute to project lead, Kerry Hort, who has been with the project since its inception.

"From the early planning stages to the final touches, Kerry's unwavering dedication and leadership have been the cornerstone of this monumental effort. Her commitment to excellence, tireless work ethic, and passion for improving healthcare in our community have been truly inspirational."

The event also saw the unveiling of a permanent Thank You wall in the front entrance to thank the many people involved with the project.

The $165 million Goulburn Hospital Redevelopment project has delivered a modern, fit-for purpose facility, and represents the most significant upgrade in the hospital’s 130-year history.

The redevelopment includes a new emergency department, intensive care unit, medical imaging department, and modern digital theatres.
